Easter in Sciacca
The representation of Easter in Sicily is something alive. In Sicily, the passion of Easter becomes a passion for the city: ancient rites come to light, tribal and archaic thrusts are staged, the sacred and the profane mix, giving life to truly touching scenes and intense moments.
In Sciacca the representation of the dead Christ takes place with statues: the body of the crucified Jesus is a mannequin that has the appearance of a dead man, with arms and head dangling in the hands of those who put him on the cross and then place him in the case of glass.
