For first-time visitors, it is a breathtaking spectacle. For those who live in Sciacca, it is a collective ritual. In 2026, the Carnival celebrates 400 years of history and is officially recognized as a Historic Carnival by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
It is not just a festival: it is a cultural, theatrical and popular event that transforms the city for five days.

The Grand Masked Parades
Each day includes:

Afternoon parade of allegorical floats

Evening stage performances with masked groups and theatrical acts
The floats are monumental papier-mâché creations, equipped with complex mechanical movements, original music and satirical scripts. It is not just visual entertainment — it is open-air theatre.
Opening Ceremony
On Friday 20 February, the Carnival officially begins with the symbolic handover of the city keys to Peppe Nappa.
A highly anticipated moment that marks the start of the celebrations.
The Most Anticipated Event for Children
On Sunday 22 February at 3:00 PM, Luì and Sofì (Me Contro Te) will perform live.
