Carnival of Sciacca<\/h2>\n

In the first place, Sciacca celebrates its Carnival. Carnival of Sciacca is the oldest in Sicily. But also one of the most famous in southern Italy. The tradition begins around the first half of the 17th century in Sciacca. It is celebrated with allegorical floats and costumes.
\nThe best decorated allegorical floats are displayed in the streets of the city.<\/p>\n

In addition, in the streets there are bright colors, masks, confetti and paper lines. This makes the people who take part protagonists of a collective joy.<\/p>\n

The party<\/h2>\n

Today the Sciacca Carnival is one of the most anticipated of citizens. It attracts visitors from all over the world. It begins with the symbolic key of the city for the carnival king Peppe Nappa. The character that the Saccensi consider the symbolic mask. So, he opens and closes the festival.<\/p>\n

It ends when Peppe Nappa’s car burns in front of everyone in the square.<\/p>\n

During the event, they offer sausages and wine on the streets of Sciacca. The peculiarity is the presence of allegorical floats. They reach a height of 12 meters. The streets of the historic center are illuminated at night.<\/p>\n<\/div>
