Caltragirone is an Italian municipality in the metropolitan city of Catania in Sicily.

It is the fifth most populous municipality in the metropolitan city and the first by territorial extension. It is the 23rd municipality in Sicily by population and the fifth by extension.

It has been a bishopric since 1816. It is at the head of a vast and historic district of the province of Catena, the Calatino,

located in the entire southern part of the current metropolitan body. the climate is generally humid,

also due to the fact that it is located on the watershed between the plain of Gela and the plain of Catania.
